For Animated PNG, they are stucked on the 1st frame and are not animated.
Is there a way to view them animated?
i know 3rd party viewers such as xnview or honeyview can view them, but i would like to take full advantage of directory opus and maybe uninstall other 3rd party viewer.
I did try some certain plugins such as Universal Graphics Viewer Plugin from ZwickySoft , but i couldn't make it to work.
No way currently, unless someone was to write a plugin like the one for animated GIF, or unless there is a preview handler for them out there.
If there is demand for it, it's something we could add in the future. But neither of the two competing animated PNG formats (APNG and MNG) really took off or gained widespread adoption/use, at least to my knowledge. Now there is also animated WebP and potentially animated HEIC to compete with both of them, while the world will probably continue to use animated GIF (despite its numerous flaws) and MP4 (despite it not doing transparency).
If that's the case, is there a way to select file type to be open by directory opus?
i would like to for example, only png to be opened by third party.
current i only manage to find this setting, which either sets all image to be open with or without.
Currently, what i do is add multiple 3rd party image viewer on the opus image viewer toolbar. So the difference only a few additional few more mouse clicks. but i`m trying to find out more options. Still learning about Opus
i did try to explore more options such as using d8viewer, but it turns out to be quite a chore because the exe was not in the windows default list, and i will need to manually change for each filetype.
If you want to use the Opus viewer in Opus for most image types, but override PNG, go to Settings > File Types, edit the PNG type, and change the Left Double-Click event to run the program you want.
Thank you soo much, i was brainstorming at first where do i find settings > file types at first.
i was looking for something similar to this, and it turns out to be much better.
holding CTRL or ALT with double click now opens with 3rd party viewer.
Hi. I realize I'm pretty late to the party here, but I hope you don't mind if I necro this post.
I too use XnView for PNG files, so I tried to copy your settings from the image you shared. First I applied them to the Images Group, and then I deleted them and reapplied them directly to PNG files.
These are the steps I took, and I wonder if the problem is from manually entering the last part:
Settings > File Types > "Images" or "PNG Image" > Edit > Events > Left double-click + Alt > Edit > Modifiers > @async > copy and paste location of exe file > manually type "{filepath\noterm}" > OK > Close
The problem is, this only opens the XnView browser and not the image itself. Am I doing something wrong or is that what happens to you too?
