I am using several monitors when I use Directory Opus, hence I am not sure whether the usage of multiple monitors is the cause of the problem. The problem was there already before the recent update.
When I was working on my files like Word documents, and then click on Directory Opus. Suddenly there are huge lags on the moving mouse. And the window of Directory Opus turns black, with only one block in the Directory Opus window start to flash. I never experienced a similar issue before using Directory Opus.
When it occurs, everything on the pc respond extremely slowly. It becomes very difficult to shut down or open other softwares and It is hard to even shut down the pc. In addition to the mouse problem, other software responses very slowly.
After the freezes occured, the task manager did not show high usage of CPU and Ram.
All things looks normal for me in the task manager.
Directory Opus also does not occupy a lot of usage.
But I only managed to open task manager and look at it for one time. Next time it occurs I will try to record it.
No one else has reported a similar issue recently.
From the videos, it looks like a problem system-wide, not just with Opus.
The first video also shows something is using a lot of CPU, but it's not clear what as you haven't sorted Task Manager by the CPU usage column. Try that and it may point in the direction to look in.
Every time it takes place, it is triggered by clicking on Directory Opus.
Today it happens again. But something is different this time so I think it may be useful.
This time I was cutting some photos from one folder and click on another folder, wanting to paste them there and the software freezes just like before. The window disappears and certain line in the software flashes as it was before.
This time I observed that Directory Opus is the largest CPU user, occupying 29% of the cpu. ram occupation is like 700mb. But this time when I try to use task manager (control+alt+backward) to shift to or close the Directory Opus, the window of Opus recovered, and then the mouse become normal and sensitive without any freezing problem.
Unfortunately I could not took a screenshot because softwares are not responsive during the freezing
I have a similar problem sometimes in Opus, and in my case it was indeed the AV (Kaspersky) causing havoc for some reason. Doesn’t prove anything, but the Antivirus suggestion sounds plausible. It is also not clear why or when exactly it happes - I can’t see a pattern.
