Directory Opus winrar context menu

Hi How can I have winrar create archive appear in right click menu please?

Preferences / Zip & Other Archives / Archive Context Menu has an option there, if you want Opus to call WinRAR for you via the context menu.

If you want WinRAR to add its own item, that is configured within WinRAR. If you have it turned on but don't see it in Opus, you've probably turned on the option to hide non-Opus context menu items. Hold shift while right-clicking and it should appear if that is the case, or turn off the option. You can probably also add an explicit override for it if needed and you don't want to hold shift.

Using the menu Opus provides is generally the easiest, unless you need something special from the WinRAR UI.

I don't see the option to 'hide non-Opus context menu items'.
Also here are no winrar references in the menu when i press shift.

If you want WinRAR's own menu, not the Opus equivalent of it:

  • Is the menu actually turned on in WinRAR? I think it is the "Integrate WinRAR into shell" option you want in WinRAR.

  • If that is already on, do you see it when you right-click in File Explorer, or is it missing there as well?

  • If you're still stuck and this is a question about how to use WinRAR, rather than how to use Opus, then it's better to ask the WinRAR developers than us.

If you want Opus's menu item for creating RAR archives (which still calls WinRAR behind the scenes):

I reinstalled the program and that fixed it but now open in explorer is not working

You reinstated WinRAR or Opus?

Which "open in explorer" do you mean? When right-clicking on folders, in Opus? Or do you mean RAR files no longer open in Explorer?

I reinstalled opus. Yes I mean right clicking on folders

When say it isn't working, what happens exactly? Is it not there? Is it there but nothing happens? Does it open Opus instead?
