Is there a way to disable auto play of video in the viewer pane? Ideally, I would like the video to load in the pane, but require pushing play to start it.

(I apologize if this is answered elsewhere. I searched but did not find.)
Preferences / Viewer / Plugins:
Configure the Movie plugin there and turn off the auto-play option.
That's assuming the movies are being played via that plugin. If not, configure the ActiveX + Preview + Office + Web plugin, below it in the list, and within there try turning on the Windows Media Player preview handler, as an alternative which does not autoplay.
