My (I think pre-defined) 'Dangerous' status-label also matches folders. Is there a way to make it ignore folders?
That isn't one of the predefined labels.
Please show us the current definition of the label and we can tell you what to change.
The defines what the label looks like, but not which thing(s) the label is applied to.
Look under the next page, Label Assignments.
(Is this something you set up yourself, or have you imported someone else's config?)
The label is not defined on the label assignments. There is just one assignment there, but it's a different one.
I mean to get rid of the red background for the folders.
This is my own config, but I must have copied this setting from somewhere ages ago. I just always ignored it until now.
Nothing there is applying your "Dangerous" label to anything via any rules.
It's probably been manually applied to the folders you are seeing it on. Maybe you did that in the past and forgot that as well?
Right-click one of the folders which has been marked as "Dangerous" and then use Set Status > Reset from the context menu.
If that isn't in the context menu, you can also select the folder and then use the similar options in the menu which is part of the Properties button on the default toolbars (assuming you are using them).
I'm sure I haven't manually applied anything, these colors are directly applied on newly made folders. The files and folders in the screenshot you saw were made by me, today, just to show you.
Still, I tried resetting the folder properties, but that didn't help.
Maybe it's a different setting?
If you turn on the Attr (Attributes) column and look at those items, what does it say?
Edit: Turn on the Labels column as well and let us know what both say.
(newly made folders and files because I deleted the other ones)
When in the folder where you see the "Dangerous" items, open Folder > Folder Options then look on the Labels tab:
It's unusual to define per-folder/format labels in there and not know you've done it, but that's all I can think of if they are appearing on new items and not resetting.
Yes, the label was assigned there. Maybe I assigned that label to the root of a drive a very very long time ago? (I have the 'Dangerous' colors in all folders, not just the one we tested today)
Sooo, that sort of did it! But now my files are missing the red background also I'll work that out. Thanks loads, Leo!
