Have you tried the installation more than once?
Does it look like it is copying files and working in general?
Do you get as far as the "Finish" page of the installer? If so, does it prompt you to reboot? (It usually will for an update so not prompting to reboot could indicate a problem.)
Check that the installer was fully downloaded and isn't corrupted:
[ul][li]Right-click the installer[/li]
[li]Select Properties[/li]
[li]Select Digital Signatures[/li]
[li]Select the signature in the list (there should be exactly one)[/li]
[li]Click Details[/li][/ul]
A window should appear with the text: This digital signature is OK. If it does not then try downloading the installer again as the file was probably truncated or corrupted.
If you've got any anti-spyware stuff, see if it logged anything about the installer. It's possible that the tool has the old installer (or version of Opus itself) on its whitelist but doesn't recognise & trust the new version.
The installation process completed without error messages. The second attempted installation mentioned that it was a re-installation of DOpus. Computer was restarted after the prompt. Digital signature is OK.
Deactivated all of my security protection:
Comodo Internet Security Suite
Comodo BOClean
NOD32 Antivirus
Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware
I also have installed Spybot and Spyware Blaster, but did not uninstall them.
After having deactivated the mentioned programs and restarted, I now have the following error message:
COMPONENT VERSION MISMATCH
PROGRAM 9.1.1.5
LIBRARY 9.1.0.6
LANGUAGE 9.1.1.5
Reinstalling again returns the same error message. I really would hate to have to uninstall and perform a clean re-install, losing all of my configuration settings. Is there a way I can backup my configurations and perform a clean re-install, if that is the only way out of this loop ?
It sounds like you haven't rebooted after the install.
If you did, it sounds like something prevented the old library from being replaced during restart. I don't know of any AV/AS product that does this but to be honest it wouldn't surprise me, and you certainly seem to be running your fair share of them.
In the absence of other ideas* I would say try the whole process over again, and if it still fails, uninstall Opus completely (back up your configuration first using Settings -> Backup & Restore), reboot, and then reinstall from scratch.
(* I'm assuming you wouldn't like the idea of uninstalling all your AV/AS although that's certainly an option I personally would consider )

Re-installed 4 times so far. Shutdown and rebooted. Deactivated RegRun as well which I had failed to do the first time. The suggestion to restore is nice if I could launch DOpus. Not being the case, what folders or files can I backup manually that won't screw up my new install, after uninstalling the botched installation, and will restore my configuration. Thanks for all the quick replies.
I haven't tried re-installing version 9.1.0.6 again. Would like some feedback on the possible consequences of that option before trying it.
On the assumption the only file not being overwritten is the library, reinstalling 9.1.0.6 should, in theory, work.

thx for the feedback. Re-installing 9.1.0.6 restored the app and I was therefore able to make a backup. Question is; will restoring this backup on a fresh install of 9.1.1.5 create any conflicts ?
Restoring the backup will be fine. It'll do the same thing as installing 9115 over 9106 as far as the configuration is concerned.
