Hi,
I use a ramdisk to take the pressure off my SSD caused by browsers, etc. Does DOpus have any files I could do the same for - e.g. a temporary cache used during copy.

As I have observed, Opus uses temp directory like many other programs. It's not web browser which must use lot of cache files and can give you any advantage over ssd. It's just temporary few files as far as I know. And about SSD - is perfect for that pressure, that is why people buy SSD - for faster access. Is more probably that your modern SSD die of old age than by writing temporary data.
Nothing that would really make sense to move. Maybe the thumbnail cache, but you would lose it every reboot, and in that case it'd probably make as much sense to turn off thumbnail caching entirely.
SSDs don't really wear out that quickly these days so my advice is not to worry about it. By the time an SSD wears out through normal usage, you'll be able to buy one that is much larger and much faster for a small amount of money. They typically last into obsolescence now (unless they randomly fail, but if that's going to happen it's going to happen anyway). Worrying about them too much will cause you more stress than the actual problem itself.
THank you both for the advice.
