Dopus crashes when dealing with external hdds

when mounting external hdds and trying to perform operations (i.e. copy files, playing music etc.) on these drives dopus closes & re-opens or crashes. It doesn'n happen with windows file explorer, so I'm forced to use it in parallel with dopus. I'm trying to submit dmp files
PS I tried to submit the dmp files (6 in total) via "submit crash logs" and got a message saying that the file is too big and I must omit some logs. I omitted all but the latest log and still get the same message. The size of the latest dmp file is 69 mb. I'll try to submit a previous one (size 20 mb) which I created but I doubt it if that's enough
PS 2 - Some more information: I have 2 external HDDs permanently connected to my PC - one SSD (Crucial - 2 TB) and one 5 TB (Western Digital MyPassport). These HDDs are connected through a self-powered hub (Icy Box USB 3.0 Hub) and do not consume PC power supply. If (the same way) I connect another external HDD (5 TB) everything seems to work fine until I try to copy/move one more folders or send a folder contents to some other software (for example send the tracks of a folder to a media player). Then either I have a crash notification from dopus or dopus is closing without warning and restarts with the default folder. If the second case dopus does not generate a dmp file - I have to create it manually. In any case dopus becomes unstable and I have to completely shut it down by using the task manager and terminating both dopus & the helper. None of this happens when I use the windows file explorer. One more - general - observation that is always true: when dopus crashes and reopens, the helper must be terminated also (manually) or the opus icon vanishes from the tray.

Please zip up the DMPs (7z + solid compression should compress them all really well) and email them to crashdumps@gpsoft.com.au

What's the specific command you're selecting from the context menu that triggers the crash?

"Move" or "open with". And sometimes "copy" or "cut". In general when I take a folder to another place
PS But not "delete"

Move isn't a standard context menu command, is that provided by something else you have installed? Could you post a screenshot of the context menu?

My mistake: choosing move by using the mouse and holding the right key
PS The main thing here is: why I have no problems with the windows file explorer? To avoid crashes, I use it in parallel with dopus when connecting external HDDs, exclusively to copy/move files and folders from one place to another. After having finished and disconnected the external drives, I close the file explorer and continue as usual by using dopus

What do you have under:

  • Preferences / Miscellaneous / Shell Extensions / ...
    • Copy Hook
    • Drag & Drop
    • Drop

If the right-click drag & drop menu is crashing, it's likely because of one of those components has been installed by something, and is crashing for some reason.

It's normal to have a few things in there, but it might be worth a try to disable (block) any that aren't part of Windows (the Product Name column tells you that), then restart and see if it still happens, in case they are involved.

I had (except the system): winrar, dropbox, powertoys & better file rename. I disabled all of them and will try again.
PS I have to repeat that windows file explorer is functioning with those programs enabled

Why do you keep repeating this? It doesn't add any useful information. We're not doubting there's an issue, we're trying to get to the bottom of it.
