Hi folks so recently, I started to have this issue where Dopus would constantly crash on me, sometimes I would get an error message regarding a thread asking me if I want to abort or retry but most of the time it won't create a log at all and just exit crash.
This is becoming frequent to the point where it is almost unusable, I am talking about 15 times per day frequent.
I already submitted all my crash logs and did select the option to delete after submission but I could give you the ids if it can help.
That could help for the cases where I get an error message but for the times where it just exit crashes on me I don't think so?
This is honestly the first time I had such a major issue, for all these years I only had very few crashes.
If it can help I am on windows 11, updated to the latest version.
I tried installing the latest beta and while it did fix some issues I had in comparison to the latest stable version (like not being able to set color labels in certain locations) it did not fix that crashing issue.
Let me know if you guys have any clue or if I can install a specific beta that don't have this issue if possible and if there are any plans for this.
I am also curious to know if this was also reported by other people or if I am just alone in this case.
The last few crash dumps you've sent in are from a third-party DLL called IcarosPropertyHandler.dll. If you can work out what program installed that and disable it, it should solve the problem.
Interesting, this is from the shark007 codec pack, I use it to get thumbnails and properties for certain media types that don't work out of the box on windows.
Haven't updated it in months so I will try that first and then disabling it if it persists.
Thanks for letting me know.
Also one last question, if dopus exit crashes with no logs shown in the submit logs menu, that means that there are no logs to consult at all in that case?
So far so good after updating that codec pack, I did not get any crashes, I am still on the beta though so I will have to switch back to stable to confirm it is all ok.
Ok, I jinxed myself, I just got another crash log, I would like to know, is there a way for me to extract it? I submitted it to you guys just to confirm if its the same problem again or something else.
I got also other exit crashes without logs during a very large, close to 100gb, video transfer.
It would always happen at around the same part but that transfer worked fine on file explorer.
If you have an Opus Lister showing video metadata columns and the folder has a partially written video file in it, it could mean Icaros isn't able to fail gracefully on incomplete files. Probably something you should report to the developers.
