Dopus slow to open folders

Hello:

I have just intalled Wndows 10 Pro 64-bit. While 'opening' external drives has always taken a few seconds (in earlier Win 7), folders on my internal drives have always 'opened' quickly. When I had Win 7, I had all stuff on an SSD, now, with Win 10, I only have the system files (C drive) on the SSD, and all data files and folders on a non-SSD hard drive.

I don't even know where to start. What can I do?

Crash, exit or high CPU when viewing certain directories and the guides it links to at the top are the best places to start, based on what you've said so far.
