I've just installed DOpus 11 Beta 8, and the colours are wrong for many of my .jpg files. They have a violet-purple wash over them. This wasn't the case in Beta 7; for example, my default viewer-pane picture of the Tower of Babel was OK there, but was wrong when I opened the newly installed Beta 8 (perhaps this is part of the subsequent curse). Some clues:.
The colours are wrong sometimes in the Viewer Pane, sometimes in Thumbnails mode of the Lister Panel, and sometimes in Tiles Mode of the Lister Panel, but different files are affected in different places.
In one case I have copies of a single file and .jpg files cut from these files. Some are affected and some not, seemingly randomly.
I downloaded the installation file again and reinstalled DOpus from it --- no change.
There are no problems in the Windows Photo Viewer, as far as I have tested.
Meanwhile I've changed my default viewer pane picture to Daniel's Burning Fiery Furnace, which is unaffected, as one would expect.
Beta 8 enabled the use of color profiles in all JPEGs (previously it was just JPEGs using CMYK) so presumably that is what's caused it.
If you turn off the Preferences / Miscellaneous / Advanced: use_color_management option does it solve it?
Could you upload an image that exhibits the problem?
Thanks, Jon. The setting use_color_management was marked false. I changed it to true, but there was no change.
I then shut down DOpus (but did not reboot) and launched it again — no change.
I then changed the setting back to false, shutdown DOpus and relaunched it — no change.
I've uploaded the Tower of Babel. This .jpg file is displayed with the wrong colours in the Viewer Pane, both as the default viewer and when the file is selected in the Lister Panel. It displays correctly, however, in the Lister Panel using Thumbnails mode and Tiles mode, in the popup when I hover on the file, in this webpage's "Browse..." that I used to upload the file, and finally in the preview of this post.
Reporting that the problem is not entirely fixed in Beta 9. Certainly the purple wash is gone as far as I can see, and I haven't yet found a .jpg that displays wrongly in the viewer. A few, however, display with a green wash over them in the Lister Panel or in the popup when you hover on them.
For example, the attached .jpg of the Entry into Jerusalem displays correctly in the Viewer Pane, and when I selected it using Browse... below, but it displays with the green wash in the Thumbnails Mode and the Tiles Modes of the Lister Panel, and in the popup when you hover on the file.
