Double clicking tree folder doesn't expand on network drive

Double clicking on a folder in tree view doesn't expand the folder for networked drives.. I confirmed on a couple different mapped networked drives i have, that when i double click on a folder in the tree view it does not expand.. and if i want it to expand, i have to double click again (four clicks total)... i can also single click on the folder first, and then double click to expand it, which is three clicks instead of the two it should be... and when i repeat the same behavior on a local drive, double clicking expands just as i expect.. What's going on here? Thanks in advance!

You're probably just not being patient enough - a network folder might take a little longer to expand the first time you do it.

Nope, I'm being plenty patient.. If i double click on a folder and wait, it never expands.. This however shouldn't even be the point -- the point is in Explorer the same networked drive and the same folder expands perfectly on the first double click .

I'm not able to repeat this here I'm sorry.

if it's worth noting at all, in the lister window, double clicking on a folder in a networked drive does work like a charm and expands the folder.

When you single-click a folder in the tree, is there a delay while the folder is read and before the window starts responding again?

Such a delay doesn't happen for me on network drivers but if it's happening on your setup for some reason then it might explain what's going on. (i.e. The second click of the double-click isn't seen until the double-click time has expired.)

Come to think of it, the system double-click time may also be a factor. (i.e. In the mouse control panel. Is yours set to a really short time or anything like that?)

I found the setting that was causing it. I had 'Detect external file changes on network drives' checked and as soon as I unchecked it, double clicking folders on the tree (for networked drives) returned to normal.
