Downloads link in web browsers opens TWO listers

Has happened for quite some time: when I click on an "Open Downloads Folder" link in web browsers, two identical listers open displaying the contents of the Downloads folder.

Which browser(s) and version of Opus are you seeing this with?

Have you installed any scripts into Opus?

Happens with Edge, Google Chrome 48.0.2564.116m (64-bit), Internet Explorer 11.103, all up-to-date.
Directory Opus 11.17 x64, but has been happening for months.
Bog standard: no scripts.
Windows 10 x64, but occurred on previous Windows 7 Pro computer.
Occurs every time.

If you turn off Explorer Replacement under Preferences / Launching Opus / Explorer Replacement and then try with one of the browsers, do you get just one File Explorer window (and no Opus windows)?

If you turn it back on, do you still get two Opus windows?

Microsoft Edge and IE: just one File Explorer window and no Opus windows.
Google Chrome browser didn't give me the option to save then open Downloads folder.

Opus still opens when I double-click the Desktop.
Is it worth sending you the Opus configuration file (.ocb) I've just generated?

If you turn Explorer Replacement back on and try the browsers again, what happens?

Also, Chrome should give you the same options for both File Explorer and Opus, whichever is the default. (Chrome would not even see or know of a difference.) Are you saying it had the option for Opus but then lost it for File Explorer? That could indicate a direction to look in, if so.

Turned Explorer Replacement back on.
Microsoft Edge again opened two Listers.
IE only opens one Lister, so I've now set IE as my default browser.
Google Chrome just downloads to the Downloads folder but doesn't offer to open the folder; problem was only when browsers opened the folder.

Was it only ever Edge that did this?

I see the same thing in Edge, while IE and Chrome are fine. (Chrome has an open folder option in the menu off the downloads bar.)

If it is only Edge that has the problem now, and only Edge that ever had the problem, then I can confirm what you're seeing. We'll look into it and see if we can find a fix or workaround.

Windows 10 computer is only about 3 months old, so I would have only used Edge since then. Previous Windows 7 computer probably had IE as default browser and I seem to remember that this problem occurred then.

I've just rechecked: Edge opens two Download Listers every time; Chrome and IE11 open only one Lister.

Just checked my retired Windows 7 computer.
I had to reinstall Directory Opus as I had deleted it to make sure that I was conforming to licence conditions.
No problem with browsers opening two browsers.
[Then I uninstalled Directory Opus on that retired computer!]

Thinking about it: I have a laptop which updated itself to Windows 10 soon after W10 was released. I may well be remembering that Edge was opening two Download Listers on that computer.

Anyway, it seems as though you have confirmed the problem with Edge.

We have a fix in the pipeline for the issue with Microsoft Edge opening two windows. It may not make it in to 11.18 but will be in a later release if not.
