First change I noticed after updating DOpus from 9.5.3 to 9.5.4 was that drag & drop of files stopped working. I can't say that drop doesn't work - it's the drag that doesn't work.
I use dual horizontal view in 'details' mode with one folder tree on the left, multiple tabs in each lister in a WinXPpro SP3 environment.
There's also a Logitech mouse driver with SetPoint software for LX8 mouse installed and running if that's of any importance.
Is there some setting that needs to be changed or is that a known feature?
After reverting to 9.5.3, drag & drop works.
I have the same problem with 9.5.4. Directory Opus becomes non-responsive following an attempted file copy via drag & drop. I must force an Exit to continue.
BranislavP, if you install 9.5.4 does dragging ever work? e.g. If you restart Opus can you start a drag, and then find it stops working after that first one (or after you drag certain items, or drag over certain things in the tree, for example)?
If you open a lister without any tabs, does dragging work from that?
Are you using any clipboard monitoring tools? Which anti-virus are you using? I can try installing them to rule them out of the equation.
So far I can't reproduce any problems but maybe I'm not doing the right thing to trigger them.
I don't know what was the problem, but as I mentioned, yesterday I reverted DOpus to 9.5.3 after establishing that drag&drop doesn't work in 9.5.4. After updating to 9.5.4 again today to test as you proposed, I found out that drag & drop works without a problem.
As for answers to your questions:
drag&drop didn't work even once after first update to 9.5.4 - drag didn't even start
since it works now, I didn't test without any tabs
clipboard monitoring tools that I know of: Orbit to intercept URLs of files to download
anti-virus is NOD32 4.0.417.0
I really don't understand, why first update from 9.5.3 to 9.5.4 killed drag&drop, and reverting to 9.5.3 restored it, and second update to 9.5.4 didn't kill it again, but I am glad that it works now.
Reboots: I rebooted after each install. I also rebooted an extra time after first installing 9.5.4 and finding the Drag-&-Drop failure. Still 9.5.4 failed to Drag-&-Drop.
Then I installed 9.5.3, rebooted (Drag-&-Drop worked), installed 9.5.4 (for the second time), & rebooted. Drag-&-Drop then worked in 9.5.4.
