Drag & Drop to browser not working

Hi, when I try to drag a file from Directory Opus to Chrome (say, to upload a file to a site that requests I drop the files on the page), the cursor turns to the Ghostbusters 0 with a / through it. 
And the file does not transfer to the page.
I've tried all of the modifiers (shift/Alt) etc. is there a setting in Setttings I can change?

HOWEVER, It works perfectly fine in FireFox (127.0.1). Is there something that is preventing the interchange? (Probably on Chrome's side).

Directory Opus version 13.17 x64 build 8942
Chrome Version 126.0.6478.128 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Works OK here with Chrome (e.g. dragging a PNG from Opus into the post editor here at the forum).

Make sure neither Opus nor Chrome are running as admin, as that can block drag & drop between two processes.

Does it work from File Explorer to Chrome?

Are you dragging files out of normal folders, or something more exotic, like an archive?

  1. It works b/w Windows File Explorer and Chrome
  2. I have to check about running in ADMIN / Not running in ADMIN
  3. I usually drag .zip files, but sometimes I drag .pdf and .wav files. - those come out of a folder. (Meaning they are not being pulled from within an un-compressed archive).

See Why NOT to run Opus as Administrator under UAC if you need details on what to check for (at least on the Opus side).

It's also possible privacy/antimalware software is blocking drops between the two programs, perhaps. Or there could be a weird conflict with a Chrome extension.

(My chrome is 126.0.6478.183 fwiw.)

BOOM. Chrome was runing in Administrator.

I stopped DO from running in Admin the first time I saw that 2010 post. But I never thought to see if Chrome was running in Admin. (Why would I ever choose that in the shortcut options?)

But thank you, it's working perfectly!

Hopefully, this will help anyone else who encounters this.
