Drives not properly recognized

I just installed Opus 13.22 on a new Win11 Pro 25H2 machine. The processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 275HX (2.70 GHz). When I plug in Samsung USB or USB-C sticks they do not show in the drive bar until I press F5 and when they appear there is a question mark next to them. In Disc Mgmt they show healthy. On my old Clevo machine, again in 13.22 they show up fine. I can read the drives and use them. In explorer they both appear as they should. Furthermore if I unplug them they do not disappear until I again press F5. I am not running Opus in admin mode as far as I can tell. Temporarily I am running it unregistered until I remove it from my old machine. Thoughts?

Do any other programs, other than File Explorer, detect the drives automatically after insertion (if they were already open before the drives were added)?

If you have Opus open, then open File Explorer so that it sees the drives, do the drives then appear in Opus as well?

You can tell if Opus is running as Administrator by the window title.

Opus is not running in admin mode.

If Explorer recognizes drives this does not make them appear in opus.

The autoplay icon pops up when drive is plugged in.

Once drive is plugged in, not only will F5 recognize it but if I click in the active window it is recognized. Clicking in the inactive window does Not recognize it.

When it is unplugged it does not disappear until I press F5, or also clicking in either the active or inactive window makes it disappear.

And yes, if I open Word it will find the drives just like Explorer does.

Sounds like the drives are sending media-inserted events correctly, but something is blocking them from reaching Opus.

That is what Gemini was saying but had not good suggestions. Might you be coming up with something?

This is a new machine and I did a clean install. Only thing I brought over from old pc was the ocb file.

Just for the heck of it I tried the magic reboot and all is working now. Sorry to have troubled you though I will be posting another query later.

One thing now - in using Gemini to trouble shoot I did check one box in Preferences along the way that was unchecked, and unfortunately did not record it and can't remember what I changed. Is there an easy way to revert preferences to their initial settings?

The menu at the top-right of the Preferences dialog has options for resetting some or all pages.
