Dropping a rar file on another rar file let the first one dissapear

When I copy one or more cbr (rar) files with drag and drop to an open folder ON other rar files, the cbr file dissapears in the existing rar file. How can I change this situation? I would like to add it to the collection, not integrate.

How about picking a different drop target?

Options that come to mind:

  • the location bar
  • the white space next or below files and folders
  • the tab
  • the foldertree

Changing drag-and-drop settings might work as well (not tested).

That is a possibillity, thank you.
But I was used to just let it fall somewhere in a folder filled with files without any "mixing". (Opus 9)
I miss it.
And I don't know how to change drag-and-drop settings.

If you turn off Preferences / File Displays / Mouse / Allow drag and drop into sub-folders (without a qualifier key held down) then the RAR files won't appear as a drop target unless you hold down the shift, control or alt keys.

Dear Jon,
I unchecked the position you mentioned but it did not help. If I drop (dual vertical) cbr file A on top of cbr file B it still becomes part of cbr file B.

Have you tried removing .cbr from the archives filetype group ?

Yes. The archive file types CBR and CBZ are not in the list anymore.

We'll change things in the next update so that the option Jon mentioned will also prevent dropping files on archives (and also .exe files).

Thank you.

Thank you again.
Surprizingly quick
And it works.
