Duplicate command like macOS Finder

Would like an actual 'Duplicate' file/folder command, using Control + D that duplicates a file int he same working directory.

Windows makes the user do two tasks, copy then paste, when it can be achieved in one step. Command+D is Duplicate in macOS, more logical to this user.

Control + D in Windows is for Delete, but never made any logical sense to me when we already have an actual delete key on the keyboard, meh.

DO has Copy As, but that copies to another directory, not the same thing.

Like Copy DUPLICATE?

That ought to do it yes, but this doesn't show up in
Settings/Customise/Commands tab enter 'duplicate' in the bottom right filter field, with All Category selected.

Shouldn't this just be a typical native function in the context menu and in the Edit Menu??

It is most definitely there.

It's also included in the default toolbars, in the menu that's part of the Copy Files button.

ah ha, light bulb moment,
I was looking for Duplicate (Copy Duplicate) in the Command field in the Keys Tab of Customise:

Since you also mentioned it's in the Copy Files button, I see it, then decided to right click, and there we go, Edit in the context menu:

Opened a Command Editor:

Super Cool!
what an awesome file manager, probably the single most valuable app on this platform. I makes interacting with the file system/managing files, folders in Windows far more capable and comfortable.
Incredible amount of configurability, kina like AutoCAD, if you can think of something, it mostly likely can be achieved.

thanks
