I have run in to a problem where the duplicate file finder is no longer detecting any duplicate files.
I scan a folder and no pop up message appears and the windows is just lank and empty.
However I have run some other duplicate file applications and they have found 200-300 duplicate files in the same folder so they are definitely there.
The folders I am scanning are picture folders, even though I know there are duplicate images the file sizes, dimensions and file names are different on some of them. Scanning with Directory Opus does not find these files, however if I scan with Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder or DupeGuru I can find them.
It seems Directory Opus is only finding them if they are exact copies of the original files, but if any of the file details are different it will ignore them.
What would be the best configuration to detect more files? I tried the other options but I still cannot detect any duplicates.
A scan with Awesome Duplicate Finder picks up a possible 174 files in the folder.
I used to get similar results with DO but for some reason it has stopped. I'm not sure if I have configured something incorrectly or messed something up.
In what sense are the files duplicates of each other?
Based on the "similarity" column in your screenshot, which looks like a percentage, it looks like the tool you're using is doing fuzzy matching based on what the images look like to find images which are visually similar without needing the files (or images themselves) to be exactly identical. Opus doesn't do that (and never has). You'd need to keep using your current tool if you want that.
