Duplicate File Finder will not delete duplicate files

I am trying to find and delete a bunch of duplicate ebooks that I have. However, after dopus finds all the files, it won't let me delete them. I click on the delete button and nothing deletes. The toolbar will blink as if something is wrong, but i have no idea what is wrong. please help.

Make sure you're using the Delete button in the duplicate finder itself, not the one on the toolbar.

I am using that button. nothing happens. Anymore suggestions?

Could you post a screenshot of just before the Delete button is pushed? That might reveal a detail that's out of place.

Which version of Opus are you using?

i am using version 11.17. thank you for responding.

Thank you.

Does turning off Preferences / File Operations / Deleting Files / Delete to Recycle Bin where possible (supports undo) make a difference?

It may also be worth testing what happens on the local C:\ drive, using some text files, in case the J:\ drive or document type is involved in some way.

yes, that worked!!! Thank you so much for your help in this! I really appreciate it!

I am having similar issue Windows 10 64 bit DOPUS 12.4 and may be related that the copy>Update all is also not working (I'll post in different topic.).
Situation: I use the tool Duplicate FIles, Delete Mode, no filter on an external drive (N:). Files are found, but there is no "X" in the left box indicating which files DOPUS recommends deleting.

"Delete to Recylce Bin where possible" is checked ON; unchecking I get the same results.
Two Screen shot attached (Using Cntrl V)(?)

However, When I use the find duplicate files on the C: drive it works normally
Is there something with external drives? That might also affect the "Update All"

Well I thought I would copyt the folder from the external N drive to the C drive, as the find+ delete duplicate files worked on the C: drive. But it did not work! I am going to try to do it by folder.

I was able to use the Find duplicates on all folders individually except the folder "documents". After Dopus 12.4 found the duplicates, but not able to delete, I tested if I could select a file to delets, and I could, I tested to see if I could select a geoup with the same name and I could.
Here is a screen shot:

I can surmise there is something about the external drive, but that does not explain everything. I also wonder about the Nature" of the files in the folder "document" - attribute? filename?.
Not smart enough....

DOPUS is great, been using since it came out on the Amiga! What year was that...

Thanx for any help!

Well I thought about this and maybe it is the number of files that are duplicates or the total size of the duplicate files. So I set the filter to greater than 500MB - to found then, maked them with an X and delted them. So I went to a filter size of 100MB - found them, "X" them but would not delete the,. So I wnet back up to 250MB - worked fine. So Kept dpong this until I got to greater than 6.5 M.. It found 96 files for a total of 642 but will not delete.

So lets try for 6.75

34 files 233 MB - Deleted them fine now try 6.5 again; it found the 62 at 408 which roughly equals the delta. It would not delete them so I incremented the filter to 6.6 and it found them, X them but would not delete them (Again these are on the C drive.)
Since the working I was able to make the filter smaller and smaller and so I went to $m and it found more than 400 files and greater than a GB - it worked fine!
There seems to be a controlling threshold somewhere.

If nothing is selected for deletion, push the Select button at the bottom right of the duplicate finder panel.

And make sure you are clicking the Delete button next to that, not the normal one on the main toolbars.

The Delete button in the panel also now has a menu attached, allowing you to delete with or without the Recycle Bin, without having to change Preferences.

Deleting without the Recycle Bin is sometimes needed as the Windows Recycle Bin API has problems with large file lists sometimes.
