I'm using Directory Opus on Windows 11, and I noticed that when I right-click inside a folder or on the desktop, there are two identical "New" options in the context menu. Both menus look exactly the same, showing the same list of file types that can be created.
This issue did not occur when I was using Windows 10 with Directory Opus. However, after installing Directory Opus on Windows 11, the duplicate "New" option appeared immediately, even though I did not import any old configuration or settings—I started with a fresh installation.
Additionally, this issue only happens in Directory Opus; the right-click menu in the default Windows File Explorer appears normal with just a single "New" option. I also checked my system, and I have not installed any third-party shell extensions that could modify the context menu.
Is this a known issue with Windows 11, or is there a way to fix it?
To help work out what's happening, please do these steps:
Turn on Preferences / Miscellaneous / Advanced: [Troubleshooting] context_menu_debug
Download DebugView from Microsoft, extract it and run it.
(Run dbgview64.exe. Doesn't require any installation, nor elevation. Just double-click the exe.)
Right-click the background of a folder in Opus.
That should output some text in DebugView, where you can use File > Save As... to save it to a text file.
Please share the results with us.
Once done, turn off context_menu_debug again and delete the DebugView folder/zip.
