Easy filter question.. i think

Hi,

In preferences / Layout / Lister Styles, i have some styles predefined.

One of them has a filter to filter out folder.jpg files. It works great.

I also have a quick filter box setup on the toolbar if i need to filter out stuff. Such as searching for *.jpg or whatever the case may be. Again, it works great.

I have a button setup next to the quick filter box that does the following:

Set SHOWFILTERFILENAME=""
Set HIDEFILTERFILENAME=""

I created this buttons so i did not have to go back into the quick filter box, delete what is in there and press enter for it to revert back to the way it used to be. I simply want a way to undo the quick filter.

Hence my problem. By pressing that button, is undoes my filter i have set up in the style. Of course I could click the tab representing the style in question and reset it, but then I lose whatever tabs and folder I am currently in because i have certain folders predefined in the style.

How can I set my quick clear button to put back whatever filter i have set up in the style? Keeping in mind that I may in the future add more filters to the style and the fact that different styles have different filters in place, depending on what I am doing. I also want to keep the contents of the quick filter box blank and not have to go back in and have it show folder.jpg in there

Newsleecher has an innovative way of dealing with this. Not quite the same of course, but a nifty little approach. NewsLeecher has a quick filter box as well, but to clear it I just double click anywhere inside the quick filter box and it resets my filters. I gain extra real estate because i would not need a 2nd button to clear the filter.
