Edit Multiple Favorites at once?

I have a large number of favorites that use a common path, and I need to change one element of the path (i.e., from "c:\users\john..." to "c:\users\bill...", for all of the favorites

Is there a way to do this in bulk? I.e., search all favorites for "john" and replace with "bill"?

Looks like I can edit favorites.ofv, as it opens as a text file.

That's the easiest way to do a batch search & replace within favorites.

It could also be done using scripting, but that would probably just be more work for the same result, unless it's something you need to do often with automation.
