An empty tab doesn't remember its name.
It also doesn't show lock icons.
Not sure if this matters, but I was using empty tabs as leftmost 'always on' utility tabs.
and naming them A and B to index my listers, in case I swap them and needed to know which is which.
Also the locking is a bit of extra protection from closing my dual pane view (I like not having the lock icon but it still looks like a bug).
