I was making a new lister style called "music comparison" wherein I set a dual display with identical formats, for comparing the same albums except for different bitrates etc (useful for improving my music collection).
I thought that it would be handy to have a couple empty tabs in his config, for clicking into different directories while comparing albums.
The problem is when I have empty tabs, the main formats I set in the lister disappear. I tried clearing the formats of the empty tabs, but they always come back on their own. Can't the empty tabs just follow the format I set in the main lister, or must formats be set in each tab as well? That's alot of work.
Each tab can have its own format. But when you change folders in the tabs they will normally also load the appropriate format for the new folder, unless you've turned on the format lock.
Hey Leo - format lock is indeed on. When I don't use tabs in the config, it seems to function properly, but when using empty tabs, even with format lock on, the lister formats aren't respected.
Notice in the image, the formats for both panes are identical, the bottom one without tabs displays correctly, whereas the top one with tabs, does not. Thoughts?
Note: I don't mean the overall Format option for the Style, which there's a checkbox for.
I mean the separate format for each tab which you can edit via the Tabs button in the Style editor.
If you have a Style with multiple tabs then those formats will always be used. There currently is not a way to turn them off like you can turn off the format for the Style if it doesn't have multiple tabs. (That's already been raised as an issue.)
Hey Leo - are you saying that if I want to use tabs, I must set each tab's format, otherwise it will display according to it's default format setting? That sounds like alot of work, setting each and every tab's format - I figured the tabs could just use the format settings of the lister.
I see that the folder tab formats can be set from favorite presets - so I will look into creating some format presets, it looks like thats what you need to do if you don't want to set every folder tab's format.
Leo, I created a favorite format, but it seems that whether I apply the folder tab format from a favorite, or set the format manually, the folder tab formats are resetting themselves over and over. I'm using the latest version.
Will formats set in the main lister conflict with formats set in tabs? If so, which needs to be set and which left be?
Wondering if anyone else has trouble having dopus respect format settings for empty tabs, whether set by hand or from favorite formats? Mine keep resetting to a sort of default, no matter what I try to set them myself.
