I've noticed that if I Control-F to search for something and get my results in a Find Results lister then the quick search box at the top right is disabled. I have to close down the Find Results lister and then I can do an Everything search. Is this deliberate? Thanks.
It is deliberate, although it could do with updating now that Global Everything is an option.
With every other search type, it doesn't make sense to let you start an indexed search when you're in a Find Results collection, because those can't be searched in that way. But a Global Everything search is always possible (if the UI will let you do it).
Problem is working out a way to do this without also enabling the things that wouldn't work and without the search field changing modes by itself when all the other modes are disabled. Maybe if the menu for changing modes stayed enabled or something...
...But it's also fairly low priority, because you can just exit the collection to do the search.
Fair enough. As you say, all I have to do is exit the collection. Perhaps add it to the to-do list as a nice to have. Thanks Leo.
