I've set up Everything as indicated. Using DOpus 13.12 on Windows 10.
The Search bar is set to Everything search (not Global). Many times, perhaps most of the times I get:
"Some required information isn't indexed by Everything and so the search may be slower than expected."
The search is always fast and seemingly complete. After getting this rather intrusive message, every time I instantly switched to Windows Search and repeated the same search, the results were the same. Everything hadn't missed anything.
So... what is going on? How to get rid of this? Thanks.
By the way, I've permanently disabled the Window Search service. Can't say if it's relevant.
Thanks. I actually followed that to the letter...but I now remembered having recently reset Everything settings to default, which disables several of the DOpus-suggested Indexes settings.
So, most probably my fault. I'll monitor for a while but looks like (non)issue is solved.
Thanks, but I can't find such an option. There is no "Extras", either. It can be done by backing up and restoring the Everything.ini file.
I see "Import and Export Settings" in the Tools menu has been added in v.1.5a (link below) but that's not supported officially by DOpus yet, even if it works. I'm on v.1.4.1.1026.
1.5 alpha indeed has option in the "Tools" section ("Extras" in the german translation). As for the support, yes you're right. But you can try 1.5 in parallel, that's possible without any significant risk, and 1.5 works well, as far as i know from my own experience and also the forum here. Even though a few tweaks are needed, like the alpha version setting in the ini. Maybe you'll give it a try.
And in the link below, there's a description how to back up your settings manually. It should work the same way for the 1.4 version.
