Excel file problem: Double-clicked XL Files open via MetaPlugin instead of Excel

In Windows 11 Pro, after the 24H2 update, when I double-click an Excel file in Directory Opus (13.16 x64), DOPUS opens the XL file using the MetaPlugin.

No issues right-clicking an XL file outside of DOPUS. Desktop and Windows Explorer open XL files normally.

The MetaPlugin is configured to open all XL files located here:

Preferences > Plugins > MetaPlugin > Configure (tab)
Excel (checked)
Excel file extensions: .ods, .xls, xlsb, xlsx, xlt, & xlxt

Uninstalling and re-installing DOPUS does not help.
Reloading previous backup configurations does not help.
I even did a Windows in-place re-install via a USB drive.

Please help. Can't figure this out.

Okay looks like this is an issue with more people then. I have a problem with dopus not listening to my default program for files too.
