Would it be possible to add support for the "export folder listing" feature to support exporting to *.xlsx or *.xml format? I've tried exporting to *.csv and the listing always ends up broken looking. Columns combined and not exported properly.
TSV and CSV should both work with Excel, and have done so in my experience.
I tried exporting to CSV and Excel 2021 prompted me to import the file and none of their options resulted in a usable folder listing.
Unusable in what way? Please be specific.
I just tried with a simple print of C: to a .csv and it opened fine in Excel (via File->Open). There are no options when you do this, so I assume you are using Data->From Text/CSV. That also seemed to work OK, although there doesn't seem to be a way to tell excel that the first row is a header row.
Edit: apparently this is possible using the Transform Data option.
I was exporting CSV with the incorrect extension. It now works in Excel. I'm trying to export a folder and file listing on an external hard drive. Now I'm having trouble displaying the folder sizes and total space used in gigabytes or megabytes.
The Size (auto) column should do that, provided the files are large enough to use those units.
Alternatively, use Size (bytes) to get the exact byte sizes in the output, and then adjust the data in Excel as needed.
