Export Individual Drive Button Info

Is there a way to export or save individual drive button info ?

The backup function backs up all the buttons and toolbars, but what if I just want to back a single button. How can I do that ?

In Customize mode, you can right-click on a button and select Copy, and then paste it in text form into Notepad or similar. Or, drag and drop the button into a Lister or onto the desktop to create a .dcf file.

if label button have special character ? * < > and |, when you drag&drop button to folder, message error appear.
if label button have special character \ / :, when you drag&drop button to folder, file are create with no filename.
if dcf file have éèàùô etc in filename, when you drag&drop file to toolbar, ← appear in button label.

and to speak about special characters, it's not possible to put special characters to filename in Lister (DO do nothing when i press keys and it's perfect) but it's possible in tree folder (but alert when you want to validate filename)

i hope you understand what i want to say.

I think I hear what you're saying AlbatorIV... and maybe some of your examples are 'valid' attempts... but if Windows won't allow dcf files to be created from drag~n~drop from toolbar to lister... there's nothing GPsoft can really do about that I don't think.

"Maybe" they could evaluate the button you want to drop for special characters and 'modify' them to replace special chars with valid chars... but would you even really want that?

Best way to handle this is probably to use Jon's other suggestion of 'copying' the toolbar button while in Customize mode, then 'paste' it into notepad or something so you have the buttons 'code' saved. That sohuld preserve all special characters, and let you paste it back to a toolbar.

Alternatively, you can maybe just copy the entire toolbar from the /dopusdata\buttons folder???
