if i drop the same .pdfs into the image compare it errors out, so maybe not

and\or completely different pdfs it only shows the differences in text so ima say, no it it cant do that

and found this under file formats for .pdf

  • Compares the text contents of Adobe PDF documents.
  • Uses freeware converter, Xpdf:
    XpdfReader
  • Can't convert PDF documents which are actually pictures of text.
  • Can't convert PDF documents which disallow copying text.

i recently discovered, and i am liking, ExamDiff, there a handful of bell and whistles that Beyond Compare doesn't. eg, it counts and tallies the differences in a file by type and outputs this info for you. and full paths option in title bar, etc.

an no fuss syntax highlight! for some reason I've never been able to get this work in BC

i making my own button in the meantime and noticed this in their setup\program files, they use the version number in the dir name..

C:\Program Files\ExamDiff Pro 16.0 is the current stable
C:\Program Files\ExamDiff Pro 17.0 is the current beta

the registary HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\examdiff\shell\open\command they use shortname styling.. C:\PROGRA~1\EXAMDI~2.0\ExamDiff.exe "%1"

with a url protocol
