Directory Opus 13.17.1 (Beta) Build 9337 x64

Most noteably my vertical favourites bar is missing all entries. Restoring yesterdays backup does not bring it back.
Rolling back to stable 13.17 brings it back.

Did you switch to the UK English language? If so you might need to rename your Favorites Bar branch of the favorites list to match the new spelling.
Have not switched.
Would it switch automatically based on system language preferences ?
...after installing 13.17.1
Seems it has switched automatically.
BTW the flag is wrong.
Renaming from Favorites to Favourites has fixed the problem.
I will keep it on UK with Chinese flag.
My Favorites disappeared also! It's a bug, period.
Are you using the default toolbars, or modified ones?
For me, the Favourites Bar branch was automatically renamed Favourites Bar, and the toolbar automatically uses the correct name because the default toolbars look up the name for the current language.
If you didn't choose the option to translate toolbars etc. when you changed languages, that might also be a factor.
(If you didn't change language at all, and saw the problem after just installing the new beta and doing nothing else, then I'm probably on the wrong track here.)
@Leo, my favorites disappeared after the update, before that they have always been there since I set them up. As stated above it is a BUG, not a misconfig.
Yes, confirmed. If you have Windows set to UK English and install the new beta, Opus will switch to that without updating the Favorites Bar name.
You can fix it via this method:
That will fix your config, and also ensure it works correctly with the changes coming in the next beta.
This is only needed if 13.17.1 has been installed on a machine where Windows is set to UK English. If you find this thread and are on another version, you shouldn't need to worry about any of this.
I've edited the post above with a more future-proof fix, in light of changes we're going to make in the next beta.
With the Favourites Bar toolbar is off a "Star" button above the file display opens the Favourites menu
in 13.17.1 this was still Favorites not Favourites
Have just instlled 13.17.2 and it still is
On checking Language setting it had reverted to English (United States)
On selecting English (United Kingdom) then Change Language
Everything now read Favourites.
And flag is now correct
