FAYT Highlighting

Is there a way to make FAYT search terms stay highlighted until turned off or until a new term is entered? For example, I search for "tree" and get three folders with tree in the filename. Opening one of the folders disables highlighting for the other two folders, and I have to retype the search term if the first folder is not "it". Also occurs when the lister loses focus. Very annoying, at least to me.

An alternative approach that might work better:

Instead of FAYT, use the quickfilter. Type * then tree and you'll see just the things matching tree. (If you don't see anything, check that Preferences / File Displays / FAYT and Filter Bar Options / Partial matching is on.)

Now with just those folders visible, select them and drag them to the folder tab bar to open them in new tabs (either one by one or all at once). (Or you can hold Ctrl or Alt and double-click them to open them in new tabs or into a dual file display.) You can then check one or more folders while keeping the filtered list in the original tab.

Once done, click the X on the filter bar, or tap Esc to clear the filter and return to normal.

Thanks so much.
