No, there's still only one description column.
Some file types may have other columns you could use for that purpose but it's not universal.
Just checking on this to see if it's still accurate or maybe a better solution has been incorporated?
I did look at the 2 existing description columns. One is called description and there's a 2nd that's called user description. The files that I had looked at often had existing information in the description field a little less in the user description field.
I haven't evaluated the data in those 2 fields but if anyone can enter something into them before they are even created on my LAN that might be an issue if the data has value. I kind of thought in my head that the fields would be blank when they got to me and any data I might enter would be gone if they left my system. I'm not sure if there would be a reason to retain that data even if I shared them. Once they go from temporary to permanent then other people's file manager's need to deal with them. I really was thinking of this data as kind of a temporary bookmark.
I'd like to be able to attach a sticky type note or maybe similar to a comment in Excel to either a directory or a file using the context menu. Mostly used as a temporary status to keep track of how far I got through a list of files or a plan of attack, what does a purple label mean in the current context, convert the current file, etc.
They should have the functionality of a bookmark to re-locate them at a later date. Maybe they could be included with the bookmarks?
Because this kind of forced me to look at columns I'd like to be able at some point to edit any appropriate fields like we can the filename similar to a spreadsheet where we click into a cell and just add or overkey. Kind of some preliminary column thoughts follow.

At this point in time we can modify:
Not editible but would be cool if we could:
