I've tried searching for this but not really sure what to even search for. I just upgraded from 11 to 12. When copying/moving files in 11, I was able to navigate, change folders, rename files, and add files to the queue. 12 is not allowing this. Is there an option to enable this? If so, where is it?
Nothing has changed there between 11 and 12.
When you say you are unable to navigate while copying, what do you mean exactly? Or do you mean you can navigate, but can't then add things to the copy queue?
Hello Leo, thanks for the fast response. After doing some testing, it seems that it's only doing this when I am copying files to my Desktop. 11 did not exhibit this behavior. I'm confused.
BTW, I believe you need to talk up the Advanced FTP features. I needed to move files from one folder on a remote server to another on the same server via SFTP, not possible with WinSCP or FileZilla. Directory Opus saved me countless hours today. Just thank you!
Do you mean the Desktop folder is open in Opus, or are you dragging things to the Windows desktop?
If it's the Windows desktop, a copy/move operation performed via drag & drop will be handled by the program you drop things on to, which is File Explorer if you're dropping on to the Windows desktop. If you open an Opus window or tab showing the Desktop and drag to that, it will be handled by Opus instead.
Dragging from Opus to the Desktop. Very odd, bit of a departure from 11. I think I can work around it though.
That's how it has always worked, for 20 years.
If you're dragging from an FTP site or archive or something else that isn't a 'real' folder as far as the Windows desktop is concerned, it may tie up the window until it's finished. Dragging to another Opus window will work better, and also allow you to queue files.
U sur? I can just add a tab to the Desktop and drag there. Easy peasy! Really appreciate the help and the awesome product! (just hope 13 isn't just around the corner, had to scrape up for this upgrade) Have a good one!
13 is still a long way off, don't worry.
