File display lines - feature request

In the folder tree you can add lines to show each level you've expanded to.
It would be extremely useful if this could also be added to the folder display section.
My apologies if my explanation isn't great, I've included a screenshot of what I mean.

Do you mean vertical lines?

Not quite.
Vertical lines yes, but not to separate columns.
Instead like the tree view, so lines to show each expanded level of folders.

I think of the tree as a navigation device and the file display as a display device.

Are you wanting to add navigation features to the file display?

Do you want to see the full path to the current folder in the file display not just the contents of the current folder? That information could be displayed in the Status Bar.

I think the OP only wants vertical lines under the > preceding folders when they are expanded, so you can more easily see what is the folder depth when you have multiple folder levels expanded (as it already exists in the folder tree).

Some part of the lines in the tree would go to the left of the name column in the file display?

The full path is in the Status Bar.

Yes, this is what I mean.

I'm not the one expressing the feature, but I'd say not necessarily.
Full path is irrelevant, the feature is purely graphic AFAIK.

What I understand is the request is for something like this:

Exactly this, yes.

Maybe it would look nicer, if hovering (or right clicking) over the folder in question would "blink" the line temporarily to show where it goes in the folder hierarchy? Similiar to the blinking option when going one folder up?
