I am running DO 9.0.0.7 under Vista 64 and I have installed Heidi Eraser 5.84. Eraser appears as a right click context menu item in Windows Explorer but not DO. How can I add it to DO as a right click context menu item which deletes the files/directories selected?

If you install the 32-bit version of the shell extension then it should appear in Opus. You can usually install both 64-bit and 32-bit versions of the same extensions.
Note that Opus has a built-in "secure" delete function that might do what you want without needing a second tool. (Looks like Eraser does a few more things though so depends which features you're using.)
