File Filter Field vs Recycle Bin

Hi,

The Fle Filter Field does not work when the contents of the Recycle Bin is displayed (Go /trash) in a lister. I have a dual lister configuration.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Regard,

John.

John,

Confirmed, but as far I know this is a known limitation with any of Windows Special Folders (Desktop etc.) in DOpus.

Although with some of the folders if you navigate to the actual physical location of the folder you can use most of DOpus functionality.

This doesn't appear to work with the Recylce Bin Contents (at least on Win XP home SP2) as the contents appear to be compressed - if you navigate to C:\RECYCLER\ you should see what I mean.

Sure somebody else will have a more useful answer for you, but the limitation with Special Folders is definately known.

Cheers

Phat

i see what you mean, but whether its a special folder or not, the contents is displayed in a lister. Therefore imo the filter should work.

Special folders are handled by Explorer. As far as I know, Opus has no way to tell Explorer "don't display files matching this pattern" or anything like that.

It would be nice but it is probably impossible.

Same request here. The fact that it is technically possible is proven e.g. by SmartFTP 3. That FTP client can also open local file system browsers in tabs, and you can display a filter toolbar (Shift+F6), whose filter string will also apply to the Recycle Bin contents.

I'm not sure if anyone has sent a request for this to GPSoftware. If not then that is the best way to voice your support for it:

I've sent a request, thanks.
