File path is more than 259 characters

I am getting an error "cannot open file because the file path is more than 259 characters". I purchased DIrectory Opus as it is intended to over come this issue. Was I meant to make any setting changes to resolve this issue?

What's the error actually coming from? What type of file is it?

Just because Opus can handle files with long file paths doesn't mean other applications are able to.

Windows needs to be "set-up" to use long file names. It's not on by default. Ask ChatGPT or Google the changes you need to make.

We get the error when opening any Microsoft Office document (Word, Excel).
We had already applied registry settings to enable "LongPathsEnabled". That made no difference.

I am not sure what you mean by Opus can handle files with long paths but other applications are not able to. We are able to browse files with Windows Explorer but not able to open the files. Therefore, Opus doesn't seem to offer a solution to our problem.

It's not Opus opening the files, it's Office. So it's Office that is unable to open them, not Opus.

Opus will let you browse them, rename them, copy them, etc. But when you open them, it's no longer Opus doing that.
