I installed an app on my Android phone to enable wireless file transfers to my PC over my Wifi network. If I put the app URL into my browser I can see the files on my phone and download them. But the app (presumably some kind of FTP) does not show up under Network in Dopus, nor in Explorer. I've tried other FTP server apps on my phone and it's the same thing. How do I get this to show up on in Dopus? Perhaps some Windows setting I'm missing?
What is the app url you're putting in your browser ?
Edit: beware that explorer and dopus are not browsers ... you say ftp but the app is more likely to be accessed by http ...
I got it to work in File Explorer. I put the URL which is an FTP from my phone on my home network, and Explorer shows me the files on the phone. If I enter this URL in the search bar of Dopus, it can't find it.
The URL is ftp://192.168............ (edited for security).
So ftp is.
I'm not sure Opus can do ftp by default. I think you need an add-on to your license to enable it.
If it's using FTP, you can go into the FTP menu in Opus to set up an FTP connection to the phone.
The URL method should also work but might depend on the exact format of the URL being used, which we can't see.
Basic FTP doesn't require any add-on; only SFTP and FTPS.
I can't find the FTP menu in Opus. (I may have deleted it a long time ago seeing no need). Where can I find it?
Enter customize mode, there is a tab with all default toolbars and menus.
You can copy/paste from there.
Thanks. It worked.
I can put my phone device into favorites and open the files, but only by typing in the username and password each time I open it in the lister, even though I have checked "Save password on connect."
In File Explorer I don't have to do this. It also remembers the login between sessions. Is there a way to fix this?
I found a way to do this by creating a new FTP link in the FTP address book. This somehow did save the password.
Problem solved.
