FileMenu Tools Attribute setting function Cause/Effect?

I was using FileMenu Tools to set attributes across a drive I think, at least that was my goal, it's not explained very well and shortly after I did that I got this:

Does the same operation on the same files work in File Explorer, or does that also go wrong?

Have you checked for updates to FileMenu Tools in case it's a known problem?

Same problem in Explorer but different option. In Explorer I was presented with the dialog below that bundled up some files and sent it to the developer.

Nothing to do with Opus in that case. You need to report the problem to the people who make the shell extension that’s crashing.

I did.

You might want to consider displaying their dialog rather than the generic DO dialog.

There's no way for us to do that. The second dialog is displaying because presumably it crashed in a different way that another part of their software was able to detect. If the same crash happens in Opus I'd expect the same dialog to show up.

Just clarifying, you're suggesting there were two different errors between DO and Explorer which was why the two different dialogs?

The crash dialog you're seeing isn't ours, it's theirs. If something crashes in the wrong way, it can mean the crash handler (whoever's it is) also crashes and can't display the dialog, which might be what's different between the two programs.

In any case, the shell extension you are using is crashing in both Opus and File Explorer, and needs to be fixed by its authors. Exactly how it crashes in each program isn't very important.
