Filter Box stopped working (Re: filtering also folders in Flat View)

Might be this setting:

Enable filtering out of sub-folders in Flat View. By default the quick filter (i.e. the filter set by the Filter Bar) is not applied to folders when the file display is in Flat View. The reason for this is that when a folder is filtered from the list, all its contents are automatically filtered as well, and this may lead to undesired results. The Filter Bar has a checkbox option displayed when the file display is in Flat View mode that lets you turn folder filtering on or off, and you can use this option to control the default state of that checkbox (that is, if you normally do want the quick view filter to apply to folders as well as files in Flat View, turn this option on.)

As suggested, I have now activated flatview_folder_filters=True:

While this did work initially, now the Quick Filter Box:

...does not do anything anymore, in any view mode (i.e. not only in Flat View, but also in all other, normal view modes). Meaning, it does not filter anything.

...was I going to ask

I just realized that for some reason, I had another filter button (that filters for *.pdf files) which accidentally was active and interfered somehow with the Quick Filter Box. (is that the correct name for the box?)

By un-pressing that filter button everything is back to normal.

Anyway, I just leave this post here for future reference, or in case others should encounter this problem.

In my view and from my experience, it would be great if in Mixed Flat View (probably also in Grouped Flat View), the above would not be the case.

I.e. when in Mixed or Grouped Flat View, simply everything (files and folders) would be filtered from the current view, no matter where the files are located.

In other words, even when files are located in a folder that itself is filtered out by the current contents of the Quick Filter Box, they would still be shown in Mixed or Grouped Flat View.

May I suggest making this into a feature request?

PPS: Currently, when in Grouped Flat View, it seems that the Quick Filter Box does nothing. Or am I doing something wrong?
