I have added the filter function to the toolbar and am using it extensively, but having one problem with it.
When done, I close the viewer, but when starting a new viewer, the filter is still active.
Is it possible to reset the filter when opening a viewer?
Commands to clear all the filters are included here:

Filters and the viewer aren't connected so I'm not sure what you're asking for at the end of your post.
It should have been lister instead of viewer.
What I am requesting is an automatic reset when a new lister window is opened.
Filters are already reset when you open a new lister.
Unless you mean you are exiting the program, then starting it again later, and you have Opus set to re-open the previous windows upon restart.
That is the only situation I can think of where a filter will remain across window closure (ignoring filters that you purposely save into Folder Options/Folder Formats).
All Launching Opus Settings are set to disabled or Default Lister.
