With Find/Search in version 8.x all used to be as expected but in version 9.x I seem to be making a mistake.
When searching for something on all local drives it finds nothing.
When searching for the same on only one drive, all expected files are found.
What am I missing?

Try changing the regular expression from .aep to .*.aep
(Or use *.aep as a wildcard instead; don't forget to tick Use Wildcards if you do.)

I always used to be able to work with regular expressions with e.g. .aep
May I have changed something basic in any settings?
Hmm...
What happens if you use Tools -> Find Panel instead of the standalone Find window?
If that works, maybe searching local harddrives is broken in the standalone Find window.
