Find Files

All of a sudden, starting this evening, I've been getting strange results with the "find files" tool. Previously it had been reliable and fast. I've got a directory where I'm storing mp3 files (ripped from my large CD collection) and I'm trying to eliminate duplicates, so for example, I do a file find for text "the beatles". It's extremely slow but it eventually finds "01_The Beatles_Magical Mystery Tour.mp3", "07_The Beatles_Michelle.mp3", etc. BUT it also finds "14 - Dave Dudley - Six Days On The Road (Original).mp3" and "22 - Roger Miller - Chug-A-Lug.mp3" etc. The directory I'm searching contains 968 files comprising 6.30 gigabytes.

Windows 7.0, 64bit and Opus pro edition 11.15 x64. I've tried rebooting to no avail. Could this be a bug? I don't believe I'm doing anything wrong as previously "find files" worked fine. Something has apparently changed but I have no clue what it might be. Anything I should try?

Are we talking about Tools > Find Files, or about the Search field at the top-right of the toolbars?

Please post a screenshot so we can see exactly what has been typed into them and, if it's Find Files, how all the options in the panel are connfigured.

I'm using "Tools > Find Files"

You're searching for files containing "the beatles" (i.e. with that text in the actual content of the file), not by filename.

Change the search parameters to Name matching: the beatles and clear the Containing text field and see if that helps.

Doh! Of course. What was I thinking! Thank you!
