Floating toolbar keeps resizing itself

Hi there.

I don't know if this is something I've screwed up or a bug, but I thin it's been around for quite a while, much before the last patch. I'm running 10.5.1.0 (4848) x64.

I've got a floating toolbar for launching games. Most of the icons are 64x64 pixel .PNG images, though there's a single one using the linked program's own icon. None of them have visible text labels. Most are single buttons, a few are three button, menu button or menus. They're laid out in two rows in a transparent, locked, undocked toolbar. I've ticket the "same size buttons whtn not docked" option for the toolbar so that the smaller icon doesn't knock the others out of alignment.

Every time Opus restarts, the bar goes slightly wrong, changing the layout of the icons and cutting the bottom off of them. Basically, the last column of buttons gets pushed down to the next row, although the new row isn't actually visible. When I go into Customise mode and unlock the bar, the icons go back to where they should have been and the bottom few pixels are no longer cut off. Locking the bar again and exiting Customise mode fixes the problem until the next time Opus restarts. Note that locking and unlocking are sufficient to fix it.

I've got another toolbar that's affected with a similar problem, or possibly the same problem: it's opened by clicking a button on the first toolbar, so it's normally hidden, but whenever I look at the bar in Customise mode, the length has reset. It's supposed to show two rows of 11 buttons but defaults to two visible rows of 10 and two buttons that aren't visible. Customise mode moves the end of the bar to turn it into one row of 20 and one of 2. Again, I can unlock, resize and lock the bar to fix it temporarily (note that the "resize" step is necessary for this bar) but every time Opus restarts, the bar is messed up again.

Is this something I'm doing wrong? The two bars have mostly the same settings (locked, auto-hide when docked (though neither is docked), same size buttons, default image size, images on, labels off).

(While playing around with the settings and getting screenshots for this post, I've somehow managed to make the second bar behave in exactly the same way as the first bar, i.e. it no longer extends itself to twice its normal length, but I don't know why.)

Thanks in advance.

After sizing & positioning the floating toolbar, right-click its border or some empty space on it and choose Save. That may fix it.

(Do that without going into Customize mode, since going into Customize mode will turn on the drag-bar and slightly resize the toolbar, which does trigger some resizing issues with floating toolbars, but AFAIK only temporary ones when editing them.)

Looks like that might have done it, thanks.

Spoke too soon, it's still doing it.

May have been a consequence of having the bar set as a transparent, frameless bar: there's nowhere to right-click on it to allow me to save it, so I had to change its settings just so I could right click, then I changed them back again afterwards. I'll try it for a few days with different settings to see how it holds.

FWIW, I saw the same thing with a floating, transparent, locked toolbar. After reboots, it would cut off about 5 pixels from the bottom of the icons (single horizontal row).

Hold down shift while moving the mouse across the transparent toolbar. It'll go temporarily opaque so that you can right-click it.

Worked for me, Thanks.
