Folder Format Preferences: unintuitive behavior of Copy/Paste/Share to Clipboard

I’m at Preferences / Folders / Folder Formats and I want to copy (duplicate) a path folder format.

At the top, there is a Share To Clipboard button, so I used that and then clicked Paste. DOpus then asks for a name and creates a new Favorite Format. However, I’d expect that it pastes the copied format over the selected format.

Additionally, there are Copy and Paste actions in the right click menu of folder formats.

That’s all a bit confusing to me, specifically:

  1. The toolbar’s Paste button behaves differently than the context menu’s paste function.
  2. Is the toolbar’s Share to Clipboard the same as the context menu’s copy function?
  3. The toolbar’s Share to Clipboard is not mentioned in the docs.
  4. A Duplicate button would be a nice addition.

Use Copy and Paste if you want to copy the settings from one format to another on your computer.

Use Share to Clipboard if you want to share the format details with someone else (e.g. in a forum post).

Ok, thanks. The UI could be improved to make it clearer I think. (Esp. 1. is unexpected.)

I agree. Maybe "Paste New" would be better for the toolbar name. We'll discuss it.
