Folder Icon Behavior Inconsistant

Hello all!
I have changed the folder icons for several folders to the poster of that cartoon show. The change has been made creating desktop.ini file and a folder.ico using http://iconverticons.com/. Anyway, on some folders it displays as I expected, which is just the folder.ico image (see "Animaniacs" and "Daria" in the attachment). However on others it shows the folder.ico image but ALSO it has part of a folder icon around it (see "Darkwing Duck" and "Goof Troop"). All were created the same way and all seem to have the same properties, attributes, etc. Any ideas what the issue might be, or what I can do to test/troubleshoot/correct it?
Thanks,
AR

Try doing the same thing using the standard Properties dialog for the folders (right-click, Properties, Customize tab).

I tried it, and it seems to have no effect. I tried 2 different folders and it still looks the same. I chose folder.ico. I also cleared the thumbnail cache. Any other suggestions?

Is everything the same on the Customize tab for the different folders? e.g. The drop-down "optimize this folder for..." at the top can be significant to how folders are displayed.

Are they all using a .ico file for their image or are some using a .jpg or similar?

Do any folders also have a folder.jpg below them?

you guys really are geniuses... The "optimize for" option was the same for all the folders. But the problem was actually the my error. Each folder that looked like "Darkwing Duck" above, had a folder.jpg image in it. Ha! I don't know how you think up this stuff, but I certainly appreciate it! I'm sold.
