I use this excellent option to set and save a folder background color for my FTP site folder. It warns me when I'm on the production.
However, I use the color red, and black fonts don't show that well. I cannot find a preference (or forum topic about a preference) to change the font color for that particular folder.
Could anyone point me?
There isn't an option to change the text colours used in individual folders. You can change the text of a folder, as in the name of the folder when you view its parent, but you cannot redefine the colours that will be used when you are inside of that folder.
I don't think the option would be very useful either. It would have to allow you to configure all of the things under File and Folder Colors; not only the default file and folder colours (and respective selected colours), but also system files, compressed files, compatibility files, encrypted files, encrypted folders, and so on... The option would presumably also have to allow people to redefine any Folder Colors set up to assign special colours to specific folder names since those colours could clash with the background as well...
So, at least at the moment, you need to choose a set of background images which all work with your text colours. (e.g. All pale or all dark backgrounds.) I think the alternative would be too cumbersome for anyone to use if you think through all the colours that you would have to redefine to go with each background image or folder format.
If you want a red background, a pale red (bordering on pink) background still stands out and says "danger!" (bordering on "I love flowers!" depending on how pink you make it) really well, while still leaving the usual dark font colours easy to read (depending on your monitor settings of course; it's easy to read on my screen at least).
Don't let him fool you... a frilly pink is his normal background color! He just modifies it back to plain white before all of his 'other' screenshots to keep from exposing himself as an opus-fairy-pansy!
