In preferences > Folder Tree > Pins, it says that "Pinned branches are permanently expanded". but if I close and re-open Opus, the branches are no longer expanded.
Expanded folders can be saved to layouts if the options under Preferences / Folder Tree / Expand/Collapse / Remember expanded root items in layouts are turned on.
The pin state is saved per layout (or when you explicitly save the tree's current state as a preset for the tree itself).
This lets you pin different folders in different windows. But may also mean you have to save the change if you're using layouts, or have turned off auto-saving of the Default Lister.
Where it says "permanently expanded", it means the branches will stay expanded forever (or until unpinned) and cannot be collapsed within that window.
However I noticed some strange behavior in Dopus 13.6.11
I activated Preferences / Folder Tree / Expand/Collapse / Remember expanded root items in layouts
But even if I explicitly save the Layout, the state of the Pins is not stored
They are saved only if Preferences / Folder Tree / Expand/Collapse / Remember all expanded items is also active
OneDrive (in the Cloud Storage category in the tree) does not stay pinned, even when I manually go to Settings > Set Lister Defaults. dopus 13.13
It would be somewhat important for me to get this working.
Note: When I open the Lister, OneDrive seems to pop into the tree a little bit delayed; maybe like 500ms. Maybe the pins are loaded before OneDrive is indexed or something like that?

Saving the trees state and loading it does not work either. OneDrive not pinned.

As of 13.14.6, the tree presets now allow saving cloud storage pins, but they are not picked up by the Lister Defaults.
That means, when I do the pins, then settings > set default Lister, then restart dopus, the cloud storage tree will be fully collapsed again.
However, when I do the pins, save the expansion preset, restart dopus and then load the preset, it works. This did not work previously, but I would prefer not having to load the preset every time I opened the lister.
Would it be possible to look at the first issue too or is this expected behavior?

No, I had "Remember all expanded items off" and "Only remember if pinned" on. I see that it works now, thanks.
IMO the option "Only remember if pinned" needs to be disabled when "Remember all expanded items" is off, otherwise it is ambivalent how it is supposed to be configured. I had interpreted them to be separate, but the latter seems to restrict the first's behavior.
Have another very ... interesting ... issue. When I spam f5 like 5-10 times very quickly (as fast as it gets - I do it sometimes when I get frustrated, haven't noticed until my pins started disappearing), it seems to forget pins for cloud storage. They just disappear and the changes get saved into the default lister automatically I think. Sounds like an absolute pain to debug and obviously an avoidable issue, but I thought I'd report anyways. Can you guys replicate it?
Hi, something must have changed as OneDrive does not stay pinned again (disappears on refresh). It happened without me updating dopus, so it must be something about OneDrive that's changed (maybe something changed that you used to track it’s state?). I updated dopus after it started happening to the most recent beta but nothing changed.
I checked the settings, but they are still correct. Also tried full reboot etc. If I pin OneDrive, save default Lister, then f5 or close the Lister, the pin disappears again.
Hi, sorry to be annoying about this, but still having the issue in .18.1 beta. Is this something you could look at please? It is quite disruptive to my workflows
